Netball

Arriving at the Netball courts Burning, Burning, Burning so hot that I was about to explode. With sweat dripping down on the side of my face towards my feet.

Seeing the other class leave full of excitement but at the same time they were exhausted. Then it was our turn to play netball, we also met a coach named Liz. She was also a netball player her self.

We then started to practice our drills to improve our skills. We started with passing the ball to our partners, it was pretty fun and quite easy. Once we knew this moves on how to play Liz told us it was time to play a real game.

Some of us were wearing bibs and others were wearing no bibs. Then we started by getting in fourths and shearing the court, we all got quarter of the court. At the end, my team ended up winning.

over all we all had a great day with Liz and we learned new drills and new skills .

This term, in maths we are learning about statistics. as part of our learning we are examining data related to our health. the first part or our examination we collected data (information)

about the food we ate for one week ( 2/2 to 9/2).

The Treaty Of Waitangi

Early this year room 19 has been studying about the treaty of Waitangi.
We have been searching and finding facts all about the treaty of waitangi and why the treaty was signed, Well it first started like this, in 1840 before the treaty was signed, the Maoris and the Pakeha had wars and also traded muskets for food. So when it was time to sined the treaty on the 6th of February, about 34 chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi, Lieutenant-Governor William Hobson had also sined the treaty.

My Net-book Reflection

This year I have really enjoyed having my Net-book to work on because having the privilege to work on a net-book, learning new skills and finding interesting facts on the Internet. Furthermore having a Net-book is really fun and also very handy for picture, videos and most probably every think else.

Most definitely the best thing I really like about my net-book is that I can take it home and do my homework and even take photos. It is easy to practice skills on reading, maths and also writing. As well as at times I can be creative for e.g, I could use Picasa, picnic and others. I really love having a net-book, with out it there is just no fun what so ever.

As much as I have love having a Net-book there are some thinks that I haven’t liked. waiting and waiting till the net work to connect. Another reason why I don’t really like my net-book because having to charge it every night and even some time I forget to charge it and then I will have to sit by the cabinet and plug it in.

The biggest difference of using my Netbook is that Before I wrote with a pencil and paper and now I am typing on my own net-book.

Challenging,”Mmm” the most challenges I have had was to stay on task at all times, and not go wondering on the Internet. But at times I am doing the right thing and staying on task. Just like Mr barks say if you practice staying of task you will get better at it.

I think going back to original using paper and pen, would be just like little kiddy's, nearly becoming a year 8` and going to be the big students of the school, I bet Most of us and me would be so sad and unhappy. But if we were to swap and go back, really it would be a waste of money and time.

Our Solar System

Did you know that there are nine planets in our solar system- Mercury, Venus ,Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

The theme for this term is outta this world, and I have learnt so much facts about the planets. The first planet I ever wanted to learn the most about was Earth the planet that we live on. Earth is the only one that living people and creatures known as , animals and other native things, that can only live on Earth because on other planets absolutely know one could survive on.

As well as did you know that the outer crust of the Earth is broken up into regions known as tectonic plates. Earth is the densest planet in the Solar System with 70% of its surface covered in water,“wow”. Do you know the inner planets and the outer planets well the inner planets are

Do you have a goal? I do, this term I’m going to work on doing really well on my maths, trying to be focus and listen more often, and sometimes do the right thing.
This term I want to achieve my goal as well as a very positive report. Things I want to do to make it easier is to learn my basic facts at home so that I know my maths fast and quick. This term I hope I can move up a level from last term and achieve all my other important goals. Just like people say "practice practice practice makes perfect." What I’m looking forward to is completing the target that I need to achieve and making my teacher ecstatic.
Working on my maths will make a huge difference.

Chanel swimming

On Wednesday,room 17 and I had an exiciting day of swimming. Chris showed us some activity of how to be safe in open water with life jacket's. Chris then showed us how to cuddle up and float. We had to get in a circle, while we were floating Chris would push us around in circles. After that He tell us some other important things about swimming.

Kiwis Are Cool

Most birds can fly, but Kiwis cant.

There’s even birds that are as tall as humans, kiwis aren’t.

Some birds are very loud, certainly not kiwis. Many birds run really fast, this is something Kiwis are good at. They can even out run humans, thats one of my favourite things they can do. Kiwis are also amazing at fighting with their tough feet .

The average size of a kiwi is a foot ball. Their are eggs that are the size of six hen eggs “WOW”
The largest kiwi is the great spotted. Its twice as large as the average

Kiwis plumage isn’t that exciting. It’s not colorful like a parrot or smooth like a duck. It’s just plain brown with bits of blond. Whats even worse is their beak!! It can grow up to 20 cm long and is really known as a bill. Kiwis are a weird bird but I still think they are cool.

Many people see Kiwis with no wings. They think because they can’t fly.They don’t have wings , but really they do. If you ruffle your hand in their feathers, you will find a little claw the size of your little finger that is part of their wings

Term 2 Topic learning

Today is term two and we are learning about Active Earth. Our school was so excited to learn about how explosions happen and were they happen. Also we are learning about tsunami, earthquakes and the things that move the ground.
I have learnt that volcanos are not the same shape as other volcanoes all around the world.
another thing that I have learnt was the closers volcano is in Mt Welington.

Traders came to New Zealand

Traders were early settler people who sold and bought from the Maori and the Pakeha.

They sold all sorts of weapons, plus blankets, land and tools.
